loladelphia:

Sometimes it is good to stare at the ground while you walk and pick up the trash that you find. I found this bag of chips while walking along Ridge Avenue where it is crossed by 27th Street in the Strawberry Mansion neighborhood of North Philadelphia. Here is what you’ve been missing, if you’re…

these and Chumpies were sold at every single corner store I knew growing up. I never really got into them, I was more of a Rap Snacks fan.

Symbol Audio Modern Record Console by Blake Tovin & Matt Richmond

The all-in-one hifi is back and in a big way! I’ve been waiting for someone to create a re-introduction to the record console since vinyl’s re-surge, but never expected it to be from one of my fellow classmates. Matt and I both went to SIUC where we studied Industrial Design. It is nice to see him carving a serious name for himself as a designer. (I am also just now learning that Matt designed the iVictrola )

The MRC is just one of three products launched this past week at ICFF by Symbol Audio, along with the Tabletop Hifi and LP Storage Cabinet. An impressive start to say the least. Considering I have already seen the above mentioned items plastered all over the blogging world, I would say they are off to a good start! I’ll be saving my money starting now, for one of everything please.

Best of luck to you Matt & Blake and I’m sure you will do well!

Design’s Invisible Century - Thomas FisherDesign has entered its invisible century. This does not mean that design itself has become invisible; quite the contrary. Designed images have become ever more pervasive in our increasingly visual culture, designed products ever more pertinent in a rapidly growing human population, and designed environments ever more important given the predominantly urban existence of our species. But the great discoveries in design in the 21st century will come not from the design we can see, but rather from that which we cannot.
